Just a quick one, i was having a chat to an engineer i know and asked him how much to duplicate an MS65 hub. He said it would be around $500 a pair in 7051 (maybe 7055) alloy, including the heat treating.
That may be another option for you guys.

options on top of this: 285mm cross drilled = +$100, slotted and cross drilled = +$150, braided lines = +$70, 330mm slotted and cross drilled = +$550

that make it a little easier??

285mm or 290mm according to the hoppers sheet (looking at the DBA catalogue it mentions 287 actually for AUII/III)
i wonder if it would cost much to change the bracket to suit the BA falcon disc size instead (298mm) sorry to be a pain, just curious...
also wouldn't slotted would be the option instead of cross drilled matey as the first upgrade?[/

Yeah I'd like slotted rotors but not cross-drilled.

holy crap! everyone has been busy posting while i wasn't looking there... lol... good work

thanks FUZZ! for answering those Q's

    MYNE: I have no idea............

Barned01: have a sticky beak at the DBA catalogue, see if you can spot the difference between the BA, and AU falcon rotors... you might be able to answer that one yourself... if there's no/minimal mods, i doubt it'd be much at all... if you can't find out what you wanna know there, i'll e-mail Peter again.

a list of names of people who've shown interest thus far... if you name appears just confirm, and let me know EXACTLY what your after, stud pattern, offset, rotor type, etc please cheers

If you can't get earlier crown hubs, use later ones with a little machine work to fit different bearings.

yeah if you wouldn't mind asking (i would myself but then they will get multiple possibly similar questions from different sources which would peev me off if i was in their situation)

    AUII/III rotor dimensions:
    diameter: 287mm
    rotor height: 65mm
    disc thickness:28mm
    centre hole: 71.8mm

    BA rotor dimensions:
    diameter:298mm
    rotor height:65mm
    disc thickness:28mm
    centre hol:71.5mm

except for the centre hole (.3mm) the dimensions really only differ by diameter (11 mm to be exact). hence why i was interested.

    my details
    RA40, slotted, braided. pending 6
also need to see why they class the ra40 strut as different to 23/28

Rad, I said i was interested... but dont have the money yet. please take me off ya list, so ppl dont get their hopes up that im the 6th person, then get upset when they only get a 15% discount instead of 25%, and get angry at me for pulling out. Sorry to get anyones hopes up... but ill look into doing a group buy again when i get the money.

smokey228: according to hoppers, the kit is designed for an xA23/8 and xA4x
so it would be designed to be used with the original struts that came with your car.
so assuming you don't have different to standard in your RA23 it SHOULD be a bolt up prospect and won't affect camber in any way.

the only time you will get positive camber from this discussion is if you use an xA6x strut of any sort (the MA61 series will cause more positive camber than an RA60 series but both will still cause positive camber) into your xA23/8/40. This would not be an issue if you are going to do the hoppers stoppers route as you are not changing the strut.

the ra60 strut has the perfect bolt spacing for the r33/z32 4 piston calliper (CRUZ will know more about this) but you have to overcome the positive camber issue if you were to put that particular strut in the 23/28/40.

I want front brakes to suit a standard RA23 strut. 5x114.3, standard offset, slotted rotors if possible or smooth rotors if not.

im not being rude but isnt one of the main points of getting the HS kit to have 5stud on the front? ie. avoid have to search for MS65 hubs

over $1K seems a bit crazy when you can do the peugot/hilux/corona upgrade for around $500 and have 2 extra pistons (isnt there?) and still have 4stud in the end.

    G/L anyway

I have done a little bit of homework about doing this conversion, I came up with MS85 hubs and drop them off at the local machine shop to get em turned out a little. It was decided to do this as the XT130 bearings would have required an internal spacer 1.5mm thick which would have been hard to make and then press into the hub. There is an off the shelf bearing that has an O/D slightly larger than the MS85 hubs but still the same internal dia as the XT130 stub axle. I will post the part number once I find the boxes I kept for this very reason. Machining on the hubs was $40 for the pair by Terry Stacey here in Perth. I was quoted $400 to manufacture alloy hubs from 6061 T6 alloy by the same machiner with whatever offset, PCD and bearing dia I wanted. Hope this helps

What I do now because all the MS65 hubs are not on Crowns.

And ZWZ bearing catalogue is your friend.
