Default Help a brother out! TA22 (and now T18) front swaybar measurement game! Updated!

Hey guys, I'm after a different front swaybar for my TA22, I want more clearance from the front of the motor. The bar I have which is a k-mac I think (was orange) is too close to the trigger plate i'm running. If I can get some measurements of different aftermarket bars hopefully one will suit. Or failing that I'll have to get one custom made, anyone know a place that will do that?

The measurement I took was from the centreline of the bar where the "D" bushes are to the inside edge of the front part. -See pic:

I'd like another 20mm or so but may be able to get away with less

K Mac custom make sway bars - it is not terribly dear either.
    YelloRolla's KE20 1/4mi = 11.32 @ 119mph @ 22psi on slicks
    12.44 @ 113 mph on 165 wide street tyres
210rwkw - not bad for a smelly 3TGTE running pump fuel.

Someone told me a while back (hmm, think it was Nathan Dean), that T18 sway bars sit further forward and are an easy fit.

an ae86 one fits a 23/28 the same as t18 does but with even more room to the front of the engine. the measurements we also need off yours is the width to the D bushes as well as the distance between swaybar link holes.

    cheers

I was originally going for any TA22 bar, but yeah I'll get some more measurements to see if anything else will fit

ok this is from Nathan's thread
    http://www.toymods.net/forums/showth...?t=5909&page=7 post 249 and down
there are no measurements but it shows ra28 to be an equivalent fit with T18.
Brett also mentions further down that a mx62 is equivalent to an ra40 (which is the same front end as an RA28) and i can also confirm this as that is what i have

    so interchangability wise ra28=t18=mx62

now this information is only useful if ra28=ta22 swaybar, so if you can get that verification, your window will open up for possibilities (possibly have a look in the toyota parts interchangeability thread for any mention of it), otherwise i will get a quick measurement when i go home tonight of the ra40/mx62 swaybar.
