knocking noise in a 7mge

its a hollow continous knocking noise, i have taken the belts off, it has oil,gearbox is on and there is nothing in the fan si im getting upset, it speeds up when i accelerate, and is loud , but not bottom end bearing loud, cars oil gauge shows good pressure and it idles dead on 1000 and starts perfect

what is the likely hood of it being the

*Harmonic balencar

*knock sensor

Hi,

It could be a few things. As OC mentioned, get a long screw-driver and put the blade end against various parts of your engine, and the handle to your ear-hole. With the engine running you move the blade about and you will hear the knocking sound come through the driver to your earhole. You'll know when you're over the area where the noise is coming from as it will be coming loud through the driver and into your earhole. It's an old trademen secret to find elusive noises.

You need to try and determine where the knocking is coming from or you'll just get a thread full of maybe this or maybe that. When you get the area where the sound is coming from then we can offer a more definitive answer... if possible.

Naturally, be careful when doing this as you don't want the blade to hit some moving part.

all i want is for it to be the balancer or knock sensor, it runs so smooth and perfect and the noise sounds like a bongo, it cant be the bottom end cause its not that ratty noise i created in my vp it was a commodore, it deserved it...this is a supra, this can not be allowed to sound like this
