For mine I made up some "z" shaped metal brackets, that attach to the underside lip of the actual lip to connect to the underside of the bumper lip. As for the lip ends, I just used some black bolts to keep it all secure at the side...as I found that the brackets didn't hold so well.

Here's some pics if they help.

Use pop rivets and some form of glue or even fibreglass epoxy. Since youll need it pianted anyways (so im assuming) just bog up the rivets and sand it all back. I will be seeing my mate tomorrow who has put the lip on his ae86 so i will ask him how he did it. The way i suggested above is how he put his duck tail spoiler on.

    i have another great idea

if you are attaching a stock part, why not use the stock attachments?
ie the ones used in the japanese domestic market?

why are you looking to find a different way to attach it? stock not good enough?

Unhappy Re: Fitting a JDM front lip

I dont know how they attached them, before I recieved the piece I though they attached onto the bottom of the bumper but thats not the case. I need to provide some photos but it was dark when I got home last night!

Yeah I see what you mean...
Looks like it was cut on the top edge. Or is that just me. But thats irrelevant now anyway.

Pop rivits might actually look ok if you then paint it, so they are blended in a little.
But still will be noticeable to a degree.

Yeah that what it looks like but it seems like thats the way it was designed, it would be nice to know how it was designed to be attached. Seems that pop rivets is the concensis.

It's just a copy of the OEM lip, and pretty much all copies dont copy the mounting tabs of an original lip.

The OEM genuine lip is actually made out of plastic, not FRP, and comes wid mounting tabs and mounting bolts to fit onto the original bumper without much hassle.
