Default 1GGZE Spigot Bearing Part No. Reqd

Can someone with a 1G please supply the part number for the spigot bearing for the 1GGZE to accept the standard Hilux 5 speed from an RN85 (late '88 model 2WD dual cab).

I've got a 1G bellhousing attached to the box (a G52 I believe), using Exedy Sports Tuff Heavy Duty clutch kit with original 22R clutch fork)

I got the clutch kit today with a 6201 spigot (same as the original in the back of the 22R) but the 6201 is too big.

Also should I be using the 22R fork as it seems a little too long so the clutch slave is a little skewiff.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Peter

If no one can supply a part number for you measure ID or crank which will be OD of bearing and measure OD of input shaft which will be ID of bearing and ring bearing place such as CBC and they will tell you a part number. They may also ask for a 'thickness'.

If you supply the OD of the bearing, the part number can be obtained from any of the online catalogues.

    ID is definately 12mm. I thought the OD for a 1G was 32mm, but maybe it's 28?

    Edit:
    Just checking a catalogue now - 6201 is 32 OD, 12 ID. 6001 is 28 OD 12 ID.

Are you sure it's just not a bit of surface rust or scale that is stopping the bearing from being fitted?

ID is 12mm. Correct. Same as 6201 which was in the Hilux 22R. The 6201 is32mm and I measured 27mm OD at the back of the crank as best I could. Thanks for your help. I'll get a 6001 tomorrow and see how I go.

The 6201 would definitely NOT fit. Inside the crank end is clean.

PS. How did you get the part no. Is it from the EXEDY website? So that I know next time.

    Cheers,
    Peter

The number gets the right size, but the bearing number should also have lots of different letters with it- prefix & suffix - that'll be about its seal design. It needs it.

Sure. There's a heap of letters and numbers after the 4 digit number - but if we go in and ask for a spigot bearing 6001, he'll get the one with the seals etc.

    Rama,

I picked up the 6001 yesterday afternoon. As I was driving out of the shop EXEDY Service rang to give me the same info. $4.40. Installed it last night. Hooray!

Now I can put the 1G in this weekend.

And I dropped in at SSS Automotive and picked up a 1G clutch fork, which is slightly shorter than the 22R so the slave cylinder connects much nicer. I'll post comparative photos when I get home tonight.

Mr. EXEDY told me there are basically two spigots for Toyota Engines: 6201 for engines over 2 Litres, and 6001 for 2.0L and under. This is GENERAL RULE OF THUMB only.

    Cheers

thats about right, 2 bearings suits all haha
easiest way to get the same bearing is take it out and take it to your bearing shop with you, make them measure it
