hmm.. I was thinking of adding one to my car aswell (running a 7MGTE)..
so I think I'll keep an eye on this thread and see what the outcome is.

I'm no mechanic - but I do notice a growing trend on these things in performance engine bays.. Thought I might need one also
apart from bling factor - whats the basic reason for installing one?

(the above technical talk didn't really make much sense to me sorry..)

How large would the connection to the filter need to be ontop of the can to be effective? Equal to the outlet size at the engine? Larger?

Reason I ask is because i went to two smaller sized connections to the filters ontop of my can and now i'm getting a few random seal leaks.

the breather connection needs to be the same diameter as the incoming pipe(s) - in a factory setup (open breather connected to interior of air filter) there is no restriction at all.

catch-can is not going to help your sister's Cressi at all - you're better off putting teh money towards a rebuild or replacement motor.

but if you insist on installing something, autobarn and similar sell cheap chinese-made things for about $100 - plus you'd factor in some $$ for hoses to suit.

yer, ive been telling her to replace it with 1jz

but it prolly going to get sold soon, so there is no real point to it .......just to stop the oil leaking into the spark plug holes and into the ISCV etc........

    the cams look grose
