    Default MORE 3TG questions

OK so stripping my heads is going well,
but i have a few questions,
    Firstly,
Can i get material removed of the edge of the combustion chambers? my no.4 has 2 nicks in the rim,
secondly whats the comp ratio conversion in these? eg say I have a 1:9.0 3T piston, cut and in my 3TG whats it turn out to be with a 3TG head on?
Finaly, how far can chain tensioners get worn before there worth replacing? (pics to come)

    Cheers
    Rohan

P.S im sure there will be more questions soon,

Small nicks are not going to hurt. If they are big nicks they can be welded up and ground back. The surface of the head should be planned as normal.

You can work out the comp ratio yourself, if you cc the chamber and piston top, know the stroke (78mm from memory), volume of a cylinder (diameter 85mm), and remember the head gasket is abouot 1mm thick. It works out to be around 10:1 or maybe 10.5:1.

Chain tensioners are very robust and can last a long time if you let them. You are talking about the pad that touches the chain? New ones have a softer rubber and may reduce noise.
