As above, buy a whole LSD diff assembly from an MA70 with 3.9 ratio and be done!

ok fella's, gear set is fucked so after hunting around for a new diff i have the option of a 3.9 LSD from a Cressida for $300 or a JZA70 4.1 LSD for approx $250. Someone help me make the decision on which to get please.

Cressida LSD = clutch type, JZA70 LSD = helical type (torsen). Decide which type you prefer then buy that one! If the JZA70 LSD is genuine it's a bargain at that price...

i rang back the guy with the 4.1 to confirm it was the torsen and it was, basically it just needs new bearings and after speaking to my diff guy he said as long as we have a good crown wheel on it and can use it's gear set then it will work out fine cos he was gonna put new bearings on my diff anyway. Thought that being the torsen had everything i would need to make a good diff between it and mine it was my best bet rather than getting the cresside clutch type which i believe still wound''t bolt straight in either as the housing are different (this correct?) So, do you guys approve of my choice with what i've just mentioned?

Just don't expect the torsen to hold up if you go drag racing with an uber clutch and clutch dumps.

hey Glen, how's things mate? What sorta diff you running on your beast? What did you mean by uber clutch? Would say that future intent is to get into some drifting on the track over dragging, not that i'm not keen to do a few runs down the ole quarter mile

THings are ok, life is strange atm!

I have a shagged factory LSD that has gone open centre, but im going to replace it with a cusco mechanical locker.

Im pretty sure you had a tripple plate clutch from memory? (That is an uber clutch)

This would mean one decent launch at the drags (ie: no slip) and your torsen will become toast.

Hmm, now thats got me second guessing. What i have been better going for the 3.9 cressida clutch type possibly? For examples sake, what does a cusco or TRD set one back? What's the go, you buy a whole new centre do you for a G series diff. Fuck i'm confused on this diff dilema, hurting me bloody head lol

Buy a trd or cusco centre and put it into your current G series diff housing.

Clutch pack LSD will wear out quickly and the torsen......will end up like the pics if you go drag racing

problem still remains that he has farked crown and pinion gears. If your not intending on roasting some amazing clutch dump launches at the drags, the Torsen should be all good, and then you get the ratio too. Otherwise, you will need to get the TRD or cusco, AND a set of ratios.
