1ggte engine number?

Hello, can anyone tell me where abouts on the block i'd find the engine number of a 1ggte?

Under the inlet manifold from memory, towards the middle-rear.

Hey Joel, it depends on what generation 1G you have. The early ones had the number quite high on the block, under the intake mani. Just rear of a large welsh plug. The next gen slipped the number a few inches further down the block, and a bit further forward.

the 2 spots I have seen have been under the intake manifold as mentioned, and also down near the join to the bellhousing just above the sump rail like in teh picture above. The one under the manifold is written horizontally, the one near the rear of the block is written vertically starting at the bottom going up. The one in the pic is easiest to find, if its not here, its under the manifold and a pain in the ass to get to.
