1g air con and ping

hi guys, the electric fan on the condensor and the electric fan on the radiator wont work when the air con is on, i can make them work by putting voltage to them but for some reason they wont turn on automatically, is the relay under the fuse box like i think it is, any other ideas on things i can check

also the car has started to ping in some of the rev range any ideas?

failing fuel pump causing a lean out, ignition timing way to advanced, using wrong quality of fuel, or just shit fuel.
