blake - is it custom dizzy setup OR just a 2TGEU electronic style dizzy (with one or two kidneys inside it?)
a standard 2T rotor button will work in this if this is the case...
pics would be good
hey guys,
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
I have a 2tg with electric points on my dizzy. And with a smashed rotor button. Please dont ask how that happened. Hehee.
Super super glue is the bomb at the mo. But it wont last and will end up stuffing something, im sure.
But i cannot find a replacement rotor that has the metal bracket for the points. I can post a pic when i get the chance. I am waiting to hear back from bosch.
If anyone knows where to get these dizzy rotors from. Please let us know!!
Thanks guys
Blake

job for a dizzy joint. thats a one off is that one champ
hey
i dont know if it was a one off job. I may be wrong, but the button looks to be original. Not modified.
i will be trying to find a distributer place that can confirm. No-one wants to touch it though.
Thanks
Blake
the metal thing at the bottom is ; the rotor looks pretty much the same though. so it might work
Hi this looks like an aftermarket hall effect electronic conversion which no doubt would be made by Bosch. Is there a silver box bolted somewhere? All the early Toyota Electronic dizzys had the magnetic pickup and reluctor.
Cheers Brett.
blake. what crowncustom said above
your dizzy has been converted to hall affect at some stage
the metal ring at the bottom is something you can make yourself actually - not a difficult job. the jaycar kit has a solution for this using the case of a potentiometer - part number RP3975 - see witzl on here - he might be able to help you.
the rotor button is actually epoxied to this metal ring thing - its purpose in life is to travel through the hall affect sensor rivted to the body of your dizzy. check that the hall effect sensor is not damaged - if the metal ring is, then i reckon the sensor will be stuffed.
question is, where does the wires from the dizzy ect go - there should be a metal box somewhere with a PCB in it which does the HEI stuff...
right on the money guys. 3 wires connected to a bosh controller?? Hmmm...
The metal ring is fine, I am thinking about getting my new rotor button machined to the right size, and using some areldite. Just push it on, with the right sensor mark. I was hoping to get an original one though.
Thanks
Blake
Let you know how it goes
yeah bosch box will be the HEI kit
cool
the jaycar kit i got says it recommends JB weld or 2 part epoxy up to 125 degrees
