RPM Tacho Wire

If i lengthen the wire which goes to the rpm tacho(ie rpm signal wire) would this change the display on the tacho to read higher/lower than the real rpm?

I would like to know this because i have wired a shift light in and now the signal wire which was going to the tacho is now to the shift light(in series) back to the tacho.

Lengthening the wire will be fine.

I probably wouldn't wire it in series though; just branch off the signal wire to the shift light.

it said on the gizmo instructions to wire in series. probably because its a recall one(sorry i forgot to add that part)

Should be fine, it will lag it somewhat, but considering that the electrons travel at the speed of light you wont notice it at all.

if u double the length its for an 8
just kidding
ive never heard of a shift light to work in series
maybe if it has 2 wires it needs light a tacho to drive it

hey sideshow how much do you charge(if u do it) to check my wiring to my AC if its needs fixing charge how much for that. i know it would be hard to say how much considering you dont know whats wrong with it.

i cant do anyhting till about 10th feb
as im in perth working from 20th till 5th feb i think

it is an AE82 100kw motor. u had previously wired it for me when i did the conversion(and we bodgey the wiring)
anywho anytime is fine im handleing the heat......just i think winter will be worse.
