FWD engine into RWD car

Is that conversion possible? if so, how much work is it...

im thinking about converting my ke55 and putting in either a 4age or 4agze which engine would be better to do and how much excluding the cost of the engine am i looking at? if the engines coming from a seca are there any other parts that i can use in my car eg brakes or anything like that?

it has been done many times.. do a search on 4age/4agze rwd conversions. so you can get a better idea of whats involved.

new intake , sometimes have to move the ignition system or completely upgrade it , a gearbox to suit the engine in rwd format.....the list goes on.

as said, there is *plenty* of write ups around here about 4AGE RWD conversions..or you could source a JDM Spec 4AGE which came out in the sprinters(??) and is already rwd.

or i could be wrong there, anyone want to confirm?

correcto, the rwd 4age's are in JDM sprinters, in FWD format ya got the aw11 mr2 (have no idea about converting to rwd), the AE82 twinky (bigport 86kw) and the AE92 seca or sx (smallport 100kw)

you can convert 4age's to rwd pretty easily, u just need the correct bellhousing (t50 is the rwd 4age gearbox i know of..) you just gotta jimmy up an alternator bracket, get a rwd intake manifold or get your fwd one modified (costs like 200 bucks to get throttle body moved to other end and plate welded over the hole, get a different/rwd water pump (adm sprinter 4ac pump works) and figure out some cooling stuff which you will find if you search around here

I tried to bolt a water pump from an ADM sprinter 4ac onto a smallport 4age and it would not fit.

Fits on a large port.

What is wrong with his post? Even though it drives the rear wheels, the AW11 4AGE is in FWD format.
