I just rebuilt my dirtbike engine and i found that using heating and freezing methods worked really well.
Sorry, this is a bit off topic but on bike engines, the main bearings fit into the crankcase halves which are an interference fit. i froze the new bearings in the freezer and heated the crankcase halves with a heat gun. worked soo well, could believe it.

Agreed. I'm sure if you check the P51 repair information I posted a few weeks ago it mentions heating to remove some of the bearings.

Used what is quaintly called a Fanny Puller from local engineering shop.
Two half shells that clamp around the bearing and you use a press.
