    Default 1UZFE into an RA28

I am pursuing info on putting the Crown V8 (centre sump) into my '77 celica, preferably x-member that will (nearly) bolt in, I am lead to believe KE70 w/ rack may fit, does this mean AE71 fits also? TA23 also fits but apparently they're getting thin on the ground. regards Coxy

    I used a TA23 xmember on which i then mounted a AE82 rack.

As another alternative, look at Joel's KE70 xmember+rack conversion.

What are the sumps on 1UZ's like?
If you use the KE70/AE71/AE86 xmember and rack you need a VERY forward sump bowl.

there is a forward facing sumped 1uz but i can't remember which one
(there is an early thread on here about sump positions for various cars however,, i'll look for it for you when i get home)
another rack setup that has been successfully fitted to XA23/8/40 is RA6X again this is a rear facing rack so you will need a front sump.

the ta23 XMemeber curves much further back than any of the other xmembers mentioned which wouold possibly alleiviate the front sump woes.
