    Yes, it's called the UZS143. A 1UZ V8 powered aristo with 4WD.

    Yup, the AWD version is 1UZ only and auto only. I can only imagine it would be slower than a 4A-C Corolla running on 3 cylinders.

    enough power for skids on snow

    i thought there was a 2JZGE AWD version as well? or is that the crown only? (athlete)

    The front diff is built into the sump, similar setup to a gtr skyline, so doing a conversion would be a big hassle.
    But if there is a 2j awd version of a crown then it may be possible to make an awd 2jz Aristo, but why would you bother?

    using my brothers account..
    say you got the 1uz halfcut and used the awd drive train etc and then put a 2jzgte into the car, would it bolt right in?(referring to trying to make an awd celsior)

    Not realy because the front diff assembly is part of the V8's engine sump. But thats not say it can't be modified/chopped to suit a 2JZ setup. Getting it registered in AWD would be a nightmare though.

    Box wouldn't bolt up to block, & neither would the sump, so no it wouldn't all bolt up, there'd be some hefty fabrication involved. You may aswell use a GTR drivetrain, at least the sump's gonna be alot closer to fitting (inline 6 to inline 6).

    Transmission wouldn't be a problem, you can use a JZ bellhousing on the AWD box (they're both A340E), but yeah the diff in sump setup would involve lots of work. Methinks it would be easier to turbocharge the 1UZ, not to mention more effective - just look at Justen's setup!

    Ok how bout this one then.......if the transfer case is seperate to the actual transmission (connected by a shaft), would a V160/Tremec conversion be a realistic possibility?

    (By realistic, I mean without having to source all sorts of different tranfer cases etc)

    As for the gbox, forget the V160, use the R151F

    http://specs.amayama.com/toyota/crown/1998_8/ the 2jzge came in 4wd from 98 on with vvti engine, although the 1jzge came in 4wd a year or 2 before.
