down past wollongong. she is not much to look at now, but in a bit it will be ready. you should be able to use the oil cooler inline with the remote oil filter.
Ok cool, well i'll look into it and see wat prices i can get. Yeah i got the sandwich plate already but it doesn't fit with my mounts! Would i be able to get a remote oil filter kit and link the cooler in with that?
Yeah 4saken pics would be great.. where abouts are you from down soouth? i might have to come check it out if its not too far.
cheers
Michael

you can buy sandwich plates from places like Motorsport Connections mine cost me $90 i think it was a 3/4 size the guy said. You can buy oil hose this turquoisy coloured stuff for $28 a meter there aswell is about a 1/4 the cost of braided and you can use conventional fittings as they just use a hose clamp. Be sure to get a thermostat while your at it you can get neat inline ones permacool make some im sure others do aswell.
Megz best bet would be to buy an oil filter relocator kit theres not much room for our mounts and this way you will be able to have enough room. there are some other sandwich plates out there but even with the smaller 4a oil filter it with foul the mount, ive done all the measurements already so yeah.
YEah i was looking at it before Dom, i will have to look into these. Are they just a universal application or specialised for each engine?

have a look at these threads megz

Perma cool make some good kits, i think they make the to suit the engines but they make them for pretty much any engine out there.
Use this relocator kit
http://www.perma-cool.com/Catalog/Cat_page27.html
with this remote thermostat
http://www.perma-cool.com/Catalog/Cat_page14.html
and a high pressure designed cooler like below
http://www.perma-cool.com/Catalog/Cat_page09.html
an AE92 oil cooler isnt suitable for a full pressure setup becasue its designed to be used with the standard ae92 sandwich plate that bleeds the oil out when it gets to a certian temp. with this setup your running the oil from the filter and to the cooler and back into the block as apposed to the bypass method used by the ae92 sandwich plate.
star performance at five dock supply the Perma cool gear so give them a call for pricing and availibilty
good luck megz i hope all this $$$ talk isnt turning u off the whole idea![]()

this is what a s14 silvia t28 will do on an afm gze...
as it gets older its starting to spool a bit slower... so at the moment im not getting full boost (15psi) untill 5 thousand rpm... the turbo has been on the car for two years now, and i've never had it rebuilt and it was second hand when i got it.
it used to hit 15 at around 4 thousand... still pretty laggy in my books.

AE92 4AGTE SX HATCH---- 14.2 @ 99 MPH
i re-used a 1mm 3 peice metal HG off my old 4agze (dunno what brand, it was there when i pulled the engine down) and bought a cheap compisite HG from work. i re-layed the 3 layers on metal HG with Hylomar and used Hylomar between both gaskets and mating surfaces.Originally Posted by Kebin
NVD05X, what ECU?
given that both these cars are making almost the same horsepower....
i'd be pretty pissed if i owned the second one
the difference in a good manifold and a good tune is that MASSIVE hole where the midrange should be....
ie, number one is around 100kw at 4500rpm...
number 2 is around 45kw.... thats like a sorted NA 4K motor![]()

yep that second one is mine and am very disappointed with it. people try to convince me not to sell the turbo but its going. when it comes on boost its great but its all too late
looking at gt28 setups. possibly the disco potato version
please dont make the mistake of the turbo put on my car. a 500-600hp turbo is crap unless your after some big numbers. i believe this turbo is well capable of over 240kw+ at the wheels on my car in its current stage. but then again thats not true as the cars being stripped to be put in a fx-gt with a more suitable turbo
whats good horsepower if you can use it? ill be much happier with a gt28
IMO the BEST turbo for a 4AGTE would have to be a HKS2510...
please note this is my opinion...but after going for a spin in a few turbo hachis and then going for a spin in josh youngs AE86 where he has a 2510 fitted...
ZOMG!!!! the response and power delivery was absolutely INSANE...
if I were building a turbo 4AGE thats what turbo I would be using for sure![]()

Joel runs a HKS 2510 on clkwrk as well and that things certainly moves along, as the mid 12 second quarters would indicate.
any of the hks gt25 series would be a great turbo but at the end of the day imho the best turbo is the smallest turbo u can use to make the power that you want. i.e. if you want to make 150rwkws then a 2540 would be too big whereas a 2510 may be alot more suitable however if you want to make 200rwkws then a 2535 would be more ideal
