I used a HKS GT2510 (pretty much like a t28) and it spooled fairly quick (cant remember rpm sorry) and held to redline easy and made 250rwhp. Fairly cheap at about $650 for the turbo if you look on forums etc

only problem is the rest of the drivetrain kept breaking

Seems to be quite a few generic references to T25/28/3 sized turbochargers being bounced around the internet..... read all recommendations with care, as different trim compressor/turbine wheels, and A/R ratios can greatly affect both the response and outright flow potential of a given T2x core...

I think you'd be best to work out what hp target you are aiming for, and then speak to a reputable turbo supplier to find a match for your needs.

That said, if you want fantastic response, and don't mind running 20+psi boost to make your topend power, then an HKS GT2510 is a damn good option. The 320hp garrett GT28 (0.6 comp, 0.64 exhaust) is a great match also (as found on the S14a & S15 silvias).

How many PSI did it take to make 250 rwhp
with a gt2510 ? what other mods have got done to the motor ?

It was running 1.2bar so 17.4psi
Used Arias forged pistons (8.5:1CR), 4age n/a cams, arp head stud kit and arp rod bolts, new bearings etc nothing too extravagant.
Before the rebuild it was running stock gze ae101 pistons with 4age n/a cams, and the arp bits and 1 bar of boost (14.7psi) and it made 220rwhp and died, may have been the tuner but we will never know! 2 of the pistons had nice detonation/wear marks etc

The good places I know will be asking $1500+ minimum. There is a hell of a lot of labour in a good manifold.

If you're interested in paying that then I can get you some names.

I'm sure there are a lot of people making them a lot cheaper but I don't know them.

my personal experience with 4age + t is that if one wants a fast car, one must have a usable power band. 4000 - 8000 is no where near as usable as 2500 - 8000: eg Josh Youngs car.

Josh's car is rediculously fast through the gears because he has boost at all times! If it drops off boost, your turbo is too big!

Just my 2cents, as i speak from experience.

    in anycase, N/A for life!
    Go drifting...

if you wont power u will need a big turbo say around 400hp turbo but remember not to big becuase you will run into compressor surge which sucks when you just spent 1700$ on a turbo hehe. big turbo = sum kick ass lag hehe i make 1psi at around 4000rpm and 21 psi at 4500rpm hehe hence the surge but i make all my power at around 5000rpm and its flat lined to 7500rpm, with a smaller sized turbo say 2510 the power is always there and its "fun" to drive but you will need to reach redline to get max power.
becarefull in which turbo you use if its an everydayer i suggest a smaller turbo, myne is an everydayer but i can put up with alot.
remember you r trying to get power out of a 1.6 you might have the biggest shit straped to ya motor but your motor is still a 1.6.

    a 1.6 hehe .
