    Default Differences between a W50 5 speed and a P51.

During the 1980's API SPringvale and EKW Keilor sold heaps of yamaha headed 235 18RG's which are likely to have P51 gearboxes attached.
So before you order your rebuild kit check out the insides using an inspection light and you might get a surprise like I did and find you don't have a W50 you may have a P51 and have to order bearings by part numbers and not by the kit.

I am OK thanks I have all the bearings and am doing a rebuild.
I showed the broken W50 as an example.

My rebuild cost $120 for bearings and $110 for seals and gaskets plus my time.
Who has spares and what sort of spares?

I have a whole gearbox spare with a sticky shift and a cluster.

SHifting this thread to the p51 rebuild site..
