Rules Tab

Hi,

We seem to still get the odd person or two that comes in and asks "why can't I post in the For Sale section" and we need to point them to the forum rules.

I know it's not hard to search for these rules, but I am wondering if it would be prudent to put a tab up the top of the page with "Rules" on it?

This means the top of the page will have Home, Forums, Membership, The Board, Events, Gallery, Records, Sponsors and Rules.

While it is obvious that some people still won't read the rules, it will be on a tab on the page and therefore very accessible and easy to see and won't require them to search the FAQ. I understand that this may be overkill, but it will be on the page for all to see and also help make the forums a little more user friendly, especially for new users, to find our rules regarding forum usage.

If you like, I can write up a rules summary and PM it to admin who can then put it in. The rules summary will provide the basic information required regarding selling, priveleged users, reputation, general forums etiquette and links to the rules FAQ.

I do agree it would make it EASY to find, But the rules and guidelines are posted as a sticky at the top of the page in alot of the fourm sub sections.
Even the special rules in certain sections IE the classifieds and cruises.
It's NOT hard to find even without having to use the search function, It seems to me that alot of people just like being spoon fed now days.

they arent in the general car talk section.

i raised this a while ago and blacksupra put them in non car discussion and at the time everyone agreed that they should be in all sections incl the tech. cruises etc etc. but this was never followed through with

If I had the power to put it in all sections I would but unfortunately I don't have that type of power. I will however do the posts Right now and get one of the mods to sticky them.

kirsty sorry if my post sounded harsh, i was just raising the point that this was mentioned before and people said things would happen, but they never did.

Consider it done
Cruises and events and the classifieds have their own set of rules that need to be followed and they are clearly marked at the top of the page so I have not put it in them sections but all the rest have it now.
