Angry MX83 Grande CD/tape player problem

My mums Grande has a friggin annoying problem with the factory double DIN CD/Tape player, and radio. When the unit is off, it will flicker on and off all the time, and when the radio is on , it will stop and start working at random intervals, or it will try and switch between the radio/CD player or to the tape player. Now, she hasnt got alot of cash to be spending on a new double DIN stereo, and in the interest of keeing it a "factory" car, we have decided not to go with a single DIN and storage pocket combo.

Has anyone run into this type of problem before ? If so, how was it fixed, or who fixes them? We are trying to fix it so the car remains original. Any help would be great!!

$50 to $100 should get you a original factory replacement in Good working condition..

jump on to www.toyotacressida.net and post a "WTB, Factory Grande CD PLayer" and you should find a few available..

sounds like ye has a loose connection on the arse end of the player, and driving round is causing the wires to bounce around and lose connection/gain it.

pull it out, have a look, if nothings sus, replace the unit.
