Question Twin SU HS6 on 5k

    Hey,

    I got a pair of Volvo 144 Carbs... The HS6 which is 2 x 1 3/4"
I was wondering if these would be able to be jetted to suit a 5k?
    And if its worth doing?
    Anyone done this before?
    Thanks
    Luke

Could be done? yes. Time, money and the right person with the bits and knowledge.

Worth doing? They'll have a better idea. Do you have a manifold? Could be you main stumbling block otherwise.

The venturi's on SU's are dynamic and not interchangable, so although you can "re-jet" them to give the correct fuel mix, you probably wont be able to get the right flow, as a 1.3ltr requires much differnt venturi's to a 2.0 or 2.4

3k weber (sidedraught) manifolds are common on ebay BTW.

    Redline for manifold, maybe.

Wilson's Carbs in Carlton for the different SU needles.

Nobody on earth left with the expertise to tune the SUs. Possibly somebody who does old English shitheaps AND has a dyno. I had triple SUs on a 4M.....never again. Cost me a fortune and never ran crisply.
