Entry form is in the mail. I won't get out of 2nd gear for the 1/8th mile drags, warming the tyres up is always frun though.

How picky are they RE the tailshaft loop? I have one but it's not the dimensions they specify...it would be stronger actually but that doesn't always matter. It would be pretty near impossible for me to get what they ask for in there??

For anyone thats leaving from Newcastle, some of us are leaving from Energy Australia Stadium (home of the knights)at 8;30am SHARP on the Friday morning, travelling up through East Maitland, Maitland etc etc. Everyone is welcome and if you have a two-way radio then bring it along,as there is not too much mobile phone reception on the way. So see you all there....
P.S. GET YOUR ENTRY FORMS IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

    Hi,

I just checked out the form, getting ready to fill it out and post it, but I am confused by the various categories.

I would put my car down as an original, however it has a stereo with speakers fitted which are not in the original model. Also, I won't have the original wheels reconditioned in time for the show. So, what does this mean? Can I enter the car and in what category?

There will always be cars that seem to be inbetween categories so you won't be alone. There is no problem about entering the car though it's just putting it in the category.

We allow non-standard stereos for original (you have to be realistic) but the wheels might be an issue. Are they mags or another type of standard wheel? Feel fre to give me a call about it or we can discuss it here.

    Hi,

It's got GTS wheels on it instead of the original GT wheels. As I mentioned, I got the original wheels but they only arrived this week and time and money are against me in getting them cleaned/painted/polished and shod with rubber in time for the Nats. It has an under dash CD player with speakers in the rear and the doors. The original radio is plugged with a classy Celica plate. Other than that she's original.

That's how she'll look when I enter it. Maybe the writing on the tyres won't be there 'cos I'm sick of redoing it. It cracks and peels and the drive to Dubbo will remove most of it and I CBFed repainting them on the day.

RIVER, your Celica looks great. Original class definitely.

JUSTEN, best you contact Jim Fife of DCCC and talk to him about it. His number is on the form. I don't think he will have a problem but I can't make that call.

I mailed off my entry on Monday

I guess it should easily be there before the deadline for the $10 off the drags entry fee, might even already have got there? I just subtracted $10 off for the drags discount anyway, so I hope this was ok.

Is there some way of getting confirmation that the entry was received?

    cheers.

    Adam.

Ok, a few more things to add:

SNS: The Toyota Nationals is not a concourse event nor is it street machine event. It is a Toyota enthusiasts event and I am happy to let anyone show their car for whatever reason they like. Some people seem to be of the misunderstanding that they have to have a show car to put it in - NOT TRUE. So please, if you want to display your car - do it.

DRAGS: Everybody gets a number of qualifier runs (depending on what time you get to the track). The quickest 8 qualifiers will be placed in a bracket of their own (the Quick 8), with the next brackets to be “Bracket A” , “Bracket B” evenly divided, and a “Powder Puff” bracket (for the girls who collectively moaned about the lack of encouragement last time).
Quick 8 to be run in a “heads up” format with Bracket A, B and Powder Puff all to be dial your own with handicapped start. (Thanks to Jason for the suggested format)

I can't tell you how many runs you'll get as i wasn't at the 2004 event on the Sunday but you get quite a few (I'm sure others will tell you how runs they got). As for safety equipment that somehow got left off the entry form but yes, approved motorsport helmet, long sleeves and long pants.

RECEIPTS: Yes, we are sending out receipts as we receive the forms.

FINALLY - Please get your entry forms in. This is most important as we have to advise Dubbo City Car Club and the caterers of our numbers by the 1st April.

i sent mine off on tuesday. Car is currently several shades grey/blue so no SNS. Lack of funds means no drags. Hopefully next year drags and maybe the year after SNS.

you can figure out your dial in time from the qualifying runs.
