Agreed (at least the rational part of my mind does!!). Big displacement NA- Good reliability, gobloads of torque, will go for years, alright fuel economy. Has good weight distribution unlike an I6...

No idea. Chat to jonra23 - he's doing one. I'm putting one into an MX22.
As for cosmetics, probably look OK with two sets of Porsche triple carbs or individual throttle body fuel injection.
Turbo an rg for the weekends, get a scooter or a moto for commuting. Petrol is gunna keep going up and any worked motor you drive all the time need to be rebuilt every now and then. The car will have enough power to do what you want sideways and if that doesn't fix your need for speed take your bike out
