I thought the standard ignitor wasn't compatible with any aftermarket system?
ie, its the same as the 7mgte ignitor.
You need a dumb ignitor.

I am installing an Adaptronic computer to run my (MAP) 4agze
I am a bit stumped as to how to wire up my ignitor.
The standard toyota ignitor seems to have three inputs from the standard computer,
They have these designated colours and also have abbreviations on the toyota wiring diagram
Black/orange stripe IGD
Black/yellow stripe IGF
Black IGT
Which of these wires should I connect to the two wires from the Adaptronic?
On the Adaptronic diagram, each wire goes to a separate ignitor, but the stock toyota one is a two channel type.
(I assume that the other two wires are 12V+ and a wire for the tacho, am I correct?)

just buy a shitty ems ignitor they work ok for what u want and are cheap
maybe ask here im sure andy would be glad to help out
milk and juice come in 2L, The cheapest wines come in 5L, the finest vodka comes in 1L
buy a microtech hehehehehe
atleast they have better help desk support than some new cheapish ecus
been gettin few calls about megasquirt and othe rvery very check ecus
my reply is an easy fix get a bucket then fill it with water then gently drop the ecu into it
cheap ecus are for people that like fukin round on forums trying to get help on how to work the darn things
im not baggin the other brands but lately been gettin too many calls about getting them to start and when they try to contact the person who fitted the unit or sells the unit a strange thing happens they dont answer the phone
then when i tell them i can fix their prob but will cost 3000 bucks they laugh
i tell them then dont waste your time otherwise by the time u get it sorted it would have cost you over 3000 and u still have a cheap ecu
and im gettin more calls every day on this type of shit whats the use of a product when u cant get any support for it
thats how they get a bad name
And then figure out why MT has a bad name, because they have to go back to factory for reconfiguration....
Note here that even a Microtech wouldn't help him anyway because it doesnt give the appropriate IGT signal to the ignitor, it expects a dumb ignitor too. Thats the whole point why Microtech sell 4 and 6 way dumb ignitors.

Yes, unfortunately the Adaptronic is requiring a dumb igniter. I went for a Microtech X4, was like $105 delivered.
As for your comments on support, you've obviously never dealt with Andy. Given it's a newish ECU, i've gone and done a couple of things which have caused problems, Andy has been nothing but helpful and actually written two interim firmwares just for me. Try getting Microtech to do that.

im not baggin any brands in particular
im just saying there is that im receiving increasing amount of calls about new cheapish ecus that no one can get much support for
so someone out there is fitting them and then leaving the job half finished
you mentioned megasquirt....i think you will find that it is a build it yourself ECU, so bagging out the support on that one is just ridiculous
maybe do some research before you go ragging on other brands of ECU. btw there is no way i will ever buy a microtech pos, when for the same price you can get haltech, which has more features and doesnt cost you $350 if you wanna put it in something else

MT has been utterly useless.
No one has left my job half finished. I am installing the ecu myself. Most of it I can work out. I just wasn't sure about my ignitor. Now that I know it isn't a 'dumb' ignitor I think I will be able to sort out my problems.Originally Posted by sideshow

Haha, no forgiveness needed, i'm pretty sure I asked the same question
Basically the Toyota igniter has the outputs, and a flag signal to tell the igniter which output to fire.
