    Default 1ggte sump question

Hello, i've been trying to confirm if there is such thing as a 1ggte rear sump? I know there is the mid sump and front sump, but what about a rear one?

    Thanks

Joel, would not a rear sump be FUBAR, for your steering. I had to step cut the mid sump on the VVTi 1J, just to stop the draglink fouling the rear of the sump pan. This meant getting rid of the low oil sender, and modifying the oil pump pick up mount bracket.

This is actually for the 4runner.. Being a IFS setup the diff sits where the front of the diff would be.. The more rearward sump I can find the better

So there is a mid-rear eh.. Is this easily distinguishable (spelling?) from the mid sump?

Sorry Joel, my immediate ASSumption was for a Celica Doh. After posting, I was thinking that a rear sump, would have been more suitable for the Hi-Lux we did a couple of years ago.

    cheers Chuck.

Haha cool.. The 3S isn't coming out of the Celica anytime soon

So are you saying there is a rear sump, or mid-rear is the best i'll get?

Joel, I just ran the tape measure across a 1G-GZE sump. I would probably call it a centre sump, as centreline of the sump, is only 30mm forward of the centreline of the engine. Bloody big fester looks like it would hold 5 litres by itself !!

    cheers Chuck.
