The words "streetable" and "700rwhp" don't go in the same sentence. Nor does 700rwhp and everyday driver. If you want 700rwhp, the only turbo's that are going to get you there no gas are 74-76mm comp wheel turbo's with S trim exhaust wheels, namely every turbo I listed bar the T88 which is just as big. This is without even taking into account you want this power level with an auto box...... Its not gonna happen.

If you can compromise and say maybe 600rwhp through the auto, then you might get away with using a T72 compressor (900hp) with a Q trim rear and .81 housing. This will get full boost in the 4200-4400rpm range, and make a genuine 850hp at the flywheel on race fuel. Its as about as streetable as it gets for a big hp street turbo car, your options here extend to Mr turbo, Precision, and Turbonetics, all offer dual ceramic BB turbos, and prob teh only 1 in your price range is the Mr turbo version, which I have on my 9 sec corolla.

If you'd like help with your setup, feel free to give me a call on 0410 730 598 or pm me, I'm not phased if you don't want to buy anything I'm happy just to help you in teh rigth direction, but I build manifolds and turbo kits on a daily basis so I migth have some usefull(or useless ) experience to help you with.

Sorry for the hijack dudes, but I was reading a bit of TO4R.com and came across this...wtf!?

i agree with what 6boost has said, its going to need 72mm wheel or bigger to make that power.

and 700 rhwp and streetable are not going to happen.

    Another quick sidetrack -
Whats a good size turbo for up to 320-350rwkw on an auto 2jz-gte? Its for my daily driver Aristo so I want as much response and midrange as possible - realistically 300rwkw would be enough but a bit of headroom is always a good idea .
I havn't found much info on sizing for this power level - everyone seems to want 500rwkw+ and to hell with the lag!
    cheers!

a gt30/40 might do the job nicely for you?
    or a GT35R with a .86 exh housing.

Here is a question, that mines R34 GTR vs Trust(???) Supra. The supra hada trust GT30 turbine kit. Anyone seen or can find some information on that GT30 turbine kit. I'm interested in what turbo equivilent they are using.

GT35R .70 a/r and .82 rear. Will give you 350+rwkw depending on mods. I've seen 400 with this turbo with supporting mods.

You should make full boost (25psi) by 3500 depending on other engine mods..

on 2j id go for a 35/40 now called a 35r with a 0.63 or a 0.84 maybe on the limit for you. On the old girl it will perfect for you as a mate has it on his and can push it up to 450 atw on 32psi on a 1jz

I didnt think that the GT35R came with an .84 rear.. I thought they only came in .63 .82 and 1.06..

Is there any reason that most people are quick to jump onto a big single setup?

Other then it being the most common route and there exists a million kits.

I personally would be looking towards two smaller turbines, maybe its just personal preferece?

The reason is because a big single is FAR cheaper than two smaller turbos, and if well-chosen it can be every bit as responsive. Aftermarket twins are for the "because I can" factor only, don't expect it to perform any better than a single though.

    Cool Re: turbo selection 2jz

Some great input there - thanks!

Would I be able to use a smaller, more responsive turbo if I was to revise my power goal down a little, say to 300rwkw, maybe 320rwkw max? Massive topend isn't the priority for me, I just want that 747 style thrust through the midrange and whatever topend I can get while still having some good low rpm urge.

a 350-400rwkw gt35r with full boost at 3500rpm sound good but a bit smaller would probably suit me better
