correct - any oxygen sensor from any 3sgte should fit - in fact any sensor from just about any toyota with the same mechanical attachment method and electrical connector (or not if you know your wiring and how O2 sensors work).
I have accidentally snapped the wire out of the back of my oxygen sensor..(the bit that goes in the top of the dump pipe or cat). 1988 gtfour 3sgte. Has anyone fixed that themselves, .and if so, how?
....or, .will any oxygen sensor from any 3sgte fit, ..I have a "storeroom" of mr2 1990 engine parts at hand.

thanks man....My MR2 sensor has a completely different connector on it...so I guess I do some intricate surgery, and put that one in....... hey...
Ihe MR2 sensor has four separate wires, ..where as mine has one....?
Is this a problem?
there are a couple of different types, fords i think use 3 wire, there are, as you mentioned, 1 wire, and 4 wire, there are a host of different configurations.
yes its a problem, mainly because it wont work.
go to a wrecker, and go through and find one similar to yours, failing that, as that sensor maybe cactus too. go to toyota and get a quote on a new one.
Eldar.O.
i think you will have to buy another one, or get a spare one.
repco charge about $100 for a new 165 , 02 sensor
i say just get a new one like i did, then you dont have to worry bout dodgy second hand ones or anything.
What is autosalon? Sounds kinda homo.

a four wire one can be made to work if you can find out what the wires are, 2 will be heater they can be left disconnected normally both the same colour (blue from memory?).
1 will be the output (connect to the 1 wire from you old sensor) only 1 wire will have this colour white? I think
the 4th wire is probably a ground for the sensor (black?) join to car chassis
the actual sensor output characterists are the same for all narrow band sensors
get a wideband with narrow band emulation as well, kill 2 birds with 1 stone i recommend the Innovate LC1

ok....The repco choice would be my best bet, ...can you explain the benifits of this wide band thingo?...........
Your gt4 uses the single wire type. im using a single wire on my gen 2 3sgte. repco will be expensive and you will still have to cut the wire to refit your standard plug.
A single wire sensor from a gen1 3sge (celica 162), 3sfe engine (sv21 or 162) is the same.
If you dont have a spare $100 for a new one, I'd go to the wreckers and get one off one of the cars mentioned above.
*hearts* his 4age powered KE70 Panelvan!
