commodores have them
This is the uni connecting joint on the back of a JDM imported P51 33111-20091.
Anyone have any ideas what nice gearbox this came off and since when have they been using RUBBER universal joints?
I am told celica GTV??
Last of the P51's used late 1979/80?

commodore = opel = german = porsch?
:-)
seriously: would the rubber would last longer than non-repairable uni joint? or not?
Where do they use rubber u-joints?
Metalastik/Rotoflex or rubber donuts are on BMW's, Alfa's, Lotus Elan half-shafts, Mini's inboard joint & lots more.
A lot cheaper then a sliding spline if there isn't too much range, but the Elan had a 'driving a bungee cord' feel with
the soft original design.
thats probably not original, i bet the wrecker just grabed whatever to stop the oil from leaking out
likely from a JAZ80

Turns out instead of pulling this apart to wreck and fit a P51 inside it, there already is a P51 inside it.
Talk about good luck and a find on eBay all for $140 bucks.

it is a Pristine P51 gearbox serial number 7126130.
The cluster was 7051251 also P51.
My W50 is 5111190.
A NZ guy tells me
W50's begin with a 5
P51's a 7
I am waiting for river to pull his finger out and read off his serial number.

That style of joint was also used in my TA63 with W55 and IRS, however the RA63 I looked at had a proper universal.
