    Default 3sge gen4 block + gen3 head ???

Not sure if this is a stupid question but wondering if anyone knows
    if a gen3 (st205) head will fit onto a beams block (st215)???

I am pretty sure they will bolt up no probs, But i suspect there will be differences in the coolant galleries on the gen3 head. Using the gen3 headgasket would sovle that. Be interesting to see the difference between the beams hedgasket and the gen3.

Wonder if anyone knows for sure? (celicara45?)

Didnt they have fairly different compression ratios? Could that be a probably... cant remember if the 3s is a non-interferance head.

yes beams as far as i know have higher compression pistons. (actually are we talking about a gen3 3s-GE or gen3 3s-GTE head i wonder?) i figured he would be turboing the motor since beams bottom ends are the toughest 3s's motors and why downgrade the head to a na gen3 head.

As far as i know, all toyota engines with a timing belt (as opposed to a chain) are non interference engines. (but correct me if i'm wrong)

Definatley a 3sgte (st205) head for turboing if there is a difference which i think there is, the bottom end would be preped for turbo.

Beams head is likley to be more complicated with vvti etc and info seems to be limited + why pull apart a perfectly good n/a head

st 215 is not a beams it is the latest turbo motor .unless you are talking caldina fwd motor thats na .
beams head would be ok but you would wont to change pistons and rods for the st205 turbo 1s .the world rally car was running beams head with vvti and turbo ,so i dont see it being a problem

Yep, its the fwd caldina single vvti n/a.

I know the beams head would be the ultimate but i guess it really depends on parts availability and cost, i just havent heard of many being done. Would be nice to get some specs on the wrc setup.

Celica RA45, i think i baught a vvti controller of u once when i first had engine installed
so u probably have seen my engine b4

just use st205 or 185 turbo pistons and also the rods from another turbo motor .plus motec m400 to move vvti and and make your own manifold or you could just buy a st215 turbo motor as the head is similar to the beams any way

I was thinking along these lines probably will use some quality aftermarket parts i want to build the engine stronger than i will need it for reliability. Ive heard good things about motec m400 but probably gunna cost me big
