    Default Pittman

    Hi ,
I am getting some bushes and associated parts repaired and replaced on the crownie (ms112). I have been told that the pittman needs to be replaced fater 300k kms i am not surprised. What I am surprised of is that the guys doing the work have told me that they cannot source one and my will need to be refurbished costing $300 and taking three days. has anybody else hit this snag and are their any other alternatives . That is another model that might fit
    Cheers
    Shane

    $300 is a rip offffffff!!!!!!!

i had a similar issue with my MX23's idler arm

i had a whole idler arm rebult for my MX23 for $90 thats rebush and injected nolethane into the ball joint.

1st thing i did was go to all of the autoparts shops to find if any other model shared the same part.

then when i found they couldnt get any in i rang their supplier direct to see if i could bribe someone with beer so they would sell one to me.

they didnt make them anymore so i thought ill give supercheap auto a try (i only ever used to buy cheap crap there) as a last resort, and funnily enough they could get me the part from japan cheaper than it would have cost to buy at repco/autopro/autobarn but i would just have to wait 3months.

i decided to get it rebuilt, found a place in north sydney that did it for $90 smackers, for the life of me i cant remember the name. they were recommended to me by joel (turbora28)

gimmie a sex and ill search the old forums for it

    your lucky day

I just like to say that i just got off the phone with the fellas at

    Turner Driveshafts & Steering
    7 West St Brookvale 2100 (02) 9905 0574

and they are able to rebuild my corona idle arm even tho they dont make them or the bushes anymore

he managed to hunt down a bush thats the correct size and is rebuilding now as well as reco-ing the ball joint.

he has then offered to post the idle arm back to me when its done to save me from driving all the way to brookvale again

    all for $95

    absolute champions!
