ugh, i need a part number for the gasket guys, i went into sca and they can't work out which one it is
Hey guys, sorry to make so many threads, i just have a lot of freetime on my hands, and i'm trying to sort out the idling issue on my car. I'm also learning, so i don't know everything.
My engine is actually the 4sfe, but it's very similar to the 5sfe, which is far more common. It might even be similar to the 3sfe?
Anyway, trying to get throttle body off, so i can clean the iacv. I don't wnat to take off the entire intake manifold, as that's going way beyond my level of expertise. So if someone could give me a quick idea of how to get it off, and if it's easy/hard.
And where can i buy a replacement gasket. I currently have a paper/cardboard one, which i want to replace with a metal one. I hope the 5sfe gasket size is the same as the 4sfe, or i'll find it really hard to find. Will places like autopro or super cheap have the gaskets? or do i have to deal with toyota directly?
thanks for ur help

theres 4 bolts holding it on remove them, and remove the pipes, hoses on it , there might be a water line running to it unbolt that it will probably be 2 10mm bolts, make a new gasket or buy one, i dont think this is your problem though

I'm trying to wrok out where i can buy a new gasket... Public holiday sucks!
I'm removing it to clean my iacv... i'm trouble shooting for the problem, but if you have any suggestions as to what it is, i'd love to hear them.
So far i've changed or checked:
Plugs and leads - changed
Fuel and air filter - changed
Water Pump - changed
PCV - checked and cleaned
Coolant temp sensor - changed
vacuum lines - checked by spraying throttle body cleaner
So what else should i check?
Go to Toyota in morley, and talk to the girl behind the parts counter, say your from toymods, she'll help you out.
