    Default 1ggte fuel system mods

hey i was wondering how far i can push the standard fuel system.
and what stuff to use when i upgrade.
if it's possible i'd like to upgrade to other toyota parts just to keep costs down and make things easyer.
I'm thinking 7mgte injectors and maybe even a 7mgte fuel pump to go with it.
i'm planning on aftermarket engine management and maybe a single turbo if i blow my twins. but i'd like to get a bit more power out of my 1ggte until i throw in a 1jz.
i don't plan on running more than 15 psi tops.

    i'm open to suggestions otherwise

but you guys know more than i do so what do you think ?

You'll NEED an aftermarket ecu to run the 7MGTE injectors.
That said, that will almost cost as much as the 1JZ conversion, and you won't be able to reuse the injectors.

Just order a Walbro pump, bump the boost up to 1psi below fuel cut, and be happy.

i'm gunna use a "band aid" comp that gets rid of all the cuts and limiters.
i already have the boost set up to just under fuel cut (depending on what the weather is like)
but what kind of boost can run before the fuel system can't cope ?

you really think an ecu injectors and a fuel comp and single conversion will cost as much as a 1jz ?

    I wouldn't run a 1G much past 18psi. Especially with the stock turbo's, and a stock ecu.

Hardly seems worth all those $$ for 3psi.

Indeed, as CrUzida said. And those 3psi are going to be roasting hot and unlikely to make a huge difference to power.

probly the cheapest power you can buy would be a big FMIC, and maybe a homemade wet spray for the IC.

your 1g is probly at its limit for it's ECU and injectors.... changing them requires $$$$.

another way to make your car go faster would be to take all the interior, and other crap out

Lol i like having seats and things so i don't think i'll take the last option

As with everybody i want the most power i can get while spending minimal amounts of money.

so everybody thinks i should get a new ecu get a single turbo and upgrade the fuel system ?
so what parts do you suggest i get ?

The limiters are in place to ensure you dont run the fuel system out of puff. as well as ensuring you dont bung your engine up, running more than the limited amount is going to shorten the life of your engine, it just depends by how much.

    think of the prices of

    ECU
    Injectors
    Fuel Pump
    Turbo
    custom manifold
    lines
    etc.

Performance doesnt come cheap, reliable performance even more so.

The stock ecu and injectors will quite happily run a moderately sized single turbo at around 15 psi, maybe more depending on the specific of the turbo. I know quite a few guys who have done the turbo upgrade first and then the rest when money permits. The key is to get the car on a dyno to set the boost at a safe level.

Nice... nothing intercepting at all - just simply a stock ECU?

    G'day,

yeah nothing in between. no adjustments to airflow meter or any of that stuff.

i have a externally venting blow off valve as well. it all runs very happily. and much better than most the after market ecu 1g's i have seen.

i do have an autronic in the cuboard to go on, in due time.

i do have a decent fuel pump etc...... and have recently upgraded to 1/2 in lines and removed the restrictor in the fuel line and still have no probs with the way it runs, cold starts etc.
