Did it have an AC amplifier to go under the dash? Also is there an AC Fuse/relay box in the engine bay? Usually they're up the front passenger side of the bay
I hope someone can help.
I've just put second hand factory air con in my RN105 Hilux with 22R. Everything has bolted up nicely and has been regassed by aircon mechanic. The factory loom had plugs for evaporator and aircon button and it plugged in okay as well.
The problem is the mechanic can't find the power cable for the compressor clutch. We also can't find any fuses or relays relating to it.
The whole system has been tested by jumpering power to the compressor so I know that this is the last thing to finish.
Does anyone have a Hilux (or Corona?) with a 22R that maybe able to shed some light on this before I book into auto elec.???
Thanks
Luke

I am the sun
I'm pretty sure the system is mechanical and doesn't use an A/C Amplifier. There is a vacuum mounted to carb to control idle.
The problem is there is no cable from loom to compressor, which I would have expected.
Thanks.
my rn90 has an a/c amp
they are not hard to get sorted out
but u need gas press signal to a/c amp
u need tacho signal to a/c amp
the output to turn compressor on is from a/c amp
Ok cool - where does your A/C Amp hide?
behind glovebox top right hand side
Excellent - thanks for that. That is where the evaporator plugs in so I'll work from there.
+ve rep for you.
blackwith a white stripe , drivers side under the bonnet near the fuse box loom, may have been cut off as it wasnt used before , it will be there , better to find it than run a single new wire that will be messy.

No - it's there and was the suspect cable. My wiring diagram points to it as well. There's no power to it with the aircon on but I'll point it out to the auto elec - It's booked in this morning.Originally Posted by cambelt1

OK all fixed. Real problem was dirty contacts in A/C switch - hence no power to BW cable in engine bay.
Thanks
i hope there was a pressure switch wired in from that b/w wire too.
