whats the difference between gen1 and gen2 - 1ggte

is there an internal difference between the gen1 and gen2 - 1ggte??

not talking turbos or boost but cams heads pistons etc etc

mostly interested to know if the cams are the same

i have one of each and wondering which one to use for my conversion and which one to keep as a spare

i intend to push it a bit so dont want to damage my good gen2 in the process but dont want to use the gen 1 if its not going to go as well or be as reliable, running a single turbo injectors aftermarket ecu etc

I highly doubt it but I have no way of being a 100% unless the motors were pulled apart. The only difference would be the age.

Internally, the engines are the same.The gen changes were, injectors, ECU, and intercooler type.

I dunno but my gen 1 was a awesome
much better than the gen 2 and gen 3 in the top end
