the silvertop head has some nasty machining marks on the intake side of the head that I would imagine would cause quite a bit of turbulence. I dont know how much it would help but I recomend giving it a bit of a grind, also matchport the manifold as both 20v heads have a huge step in the manifold path. Check out my worklog link (in sig) for more info.

yeah the stock manifold is very good, good for 99.9% of ppl.
you gotta do serious mods to need better. its the 2-1 section that sucks on the stock exhaust.

theres 2 versions of intake manifold on the slivertop.
early manuals are the worst, autos and facelift manuals have the best
if the ITBs have one pivot for the accel linkage they are the auto or face lift ones and have a manifold that matches the ports a lot better than the prefacelift manuals.

ram tubes is a tricky one, yes gains can be made, but its hard to find good ones, different sizes and shapes benifit the engine at diffeerent rpm points. its very easy to lose hp by fittign the wrong trumpets.

wouldn't a good choice for trumpets be the same as the OEM length but straight instead?

Fitting them in an engine bay could be difficult.

The're still shorter than the factory stuff, and I couldn't work out any way to fit a filter over them.

I was thinking of something more along the lines of having a mandel bend in the trumpets themselves. That does look very good though in that pic, an MR2 I assume Ben?

    Yeah, that's my old motor.

I've got the beginnings of an idea where having a bend in the pipes might be a good thing, I've got some testing to do first though..
