    Default The 20V that drains too much petrol.

    Hey guys, im posting this for a friend of mine...

    basically he got a halfcut 20V (blacktop) put in about 3-4 weeks ago, he has a bit of a problem, the car consumes way tooo much fuel... can any1 give me an indication why that is so... also the engine oil drains real quick as well.... any1 got an indication?

    he has a elephant in the motor that is drinking both the petrol and oil.

    seriosuly provide more info, it could be using large amounts of petrol because he has a havy right foot, and the oil consumption could be because he is using too thin of an oil, or the motor could be worn out and things need replacing

    take it back to whoever put the motor in and ask them

    did he change the seals and o rings before he put it in?

    As said above, too much petrol could be because he's running rich, heavy foot along with some other stuff

    hmm... how did you end up on -5 rep in the first place?

    fuel problem = check injectors, fuel pump, fuel lines + return, timing and AFRs..

    oil missing = oil too thin, oil seals buggered, any oil driping anywhere? otherwise it's blown rings or fubbarged HG..

    pre-emptive strike strategy, do a compression test, TK (sp?) test to check HG, check Fuel Pressure and also if u have a way of getting AFRs i'd suggest that
