good info, a good option for painting wheels is VHT wheel paint, there is a limited colour range, but it is resistant to chipping and scratching. has a tendency to run a little though, you have to take it very easy on the coats.
iv been meaning to do this for a long time.
painting my wheels..
this is what my wheels looked like.
i wanted to leave the lip polished, and make the inside white.
i got this primer from bunnings TOP STUFF only $11 a can it so thin. normally primers are very thick in a can.
i needed 2 cans of primer and 2 cans of clear. and a can of degreaser
so then i got to cleaning the wheels the better you clean the better the primer will stick.i soked the wheels in degreaser and used a old tooth brush to clean them.
then i had to fix any chips and scratches
after i saned the bits.
you have to feather out the chips.
i then went over with sand paper the bits that were going to be painted.
then sprayed with wax and grease remover.
then i taped and put paper over it. and hit it with some paint..
iv put about 3 cotes of paint on them.
im just leting it "bake" in the sun and then i will put some clear on
Time is priceless yet it costs us nothing. You can do anything you want with it but you can't own it.You can spend it but you can't keep it.And once you've lost it, there is no getting it back, it's just gone."

Hi, Im enthused about corollas..
my wheels were white, I had a red car, it made it look like something that belonged in the 80's (well the car was built in the 80's so it suits I guess)
I painted them black, which hides the brake dust better... Just used http://www.shopbelton.com/ which seemed to stick really well.. Though i did get the paint locally

Looks good mate. I used the same method, however i didnt use enough clear coat. They dont clean up quite as well as them other 3 original wheels.
Great way to keep the costs down!
Looks good ..
