Re: Rear Disc conversion for early Celica and Rolla
Wouldn't it be lovelly to be able to do this swap for a bit over $200 including good pads. It's a shame that parts aren't that easy to get here cheaply.
Cheers, Ian

Re: Rear Disc conversion for early Celica and Rolla
thats not a bad conversion but what you should do is make a spacer about 10mm or 3/8 of a inch bore it out so it fits over your bango housing and bolts can go through so what you have made is a extension of bango so you can put a thicker dual race bearing in to stop disc flex as you will get that in corners and also redrill the backing plate so the bolts will line up to hold the axles in properly
so you need the shim that is on the bango ,make up 10mm spacer to suit that, get bolts that are longer by about 10mm longer and get new dual race bearings to suit and fit on axles stops disc flex your rear track is wider by 20mm overall and redrill the top holes on the backing plate and away you go done properly and hand barke cables will fit as well
