I dont know what brand exactly we used, but they where adaptable, yeah arp dont make any for the 1ggte so we had to look at other options and found some others that fitted. They proberly were arp ones for the 2jz or 7m, good fastners anyways.

The ring lands in these are very small so there isnt much room for added lubrication up the revs, so its best to always use real good rings in these the chrome ones that i used can be twisted 360 degrees and still not break or snap. The pistons are not bad at all and capable of lots of horsepower its just getting them to seal is very important.

I know the info is most likely somewhere in here already.

But I wanna know what sort of boost I should be able to run safely.
The car has a 2 3/4" exhaust, larger front mount, but I assume the rest is stock.
I will be running a greddy EBC. Just trying to work out what boost to set it to.

    Cheers,
    Blair.

I ran 15psi daily with my gen3 turbos, gen3 block and gen2 head (it was the bastard child of several 1G's..)

Don't expect too much from the engine.

Running my gen2 turbos at 15psi resulted in them failing the day after, oil leaked past the seals which were evidently busted. YMMV.

The gen3's worked great - find some if you can. They need a small amount of modification to get them to fix but nothing you couldn't do with a dremel or round file.

Agreed, gen3 turbos can take alot more boost (18psi in my case). Gen2 are less forgiving from what i have read so keep it at 11psi max.

Would changing to jz turbo's be better/possible without spending too much?

I was running 18psi all the time in mine and it ran a treat I tryed to boost it to 20 but the stock turbos would run out of puff and come back to 18 at full revs
