I had redline oil in mine (TRD 2ways) before it works fine for a while then it start to make this clattering noise. Now I'm using Penrite 85w-140 and everthing is sweet again.
What type of oil are people running in there LSD Plate type diffs ??

I Only use Penrite 10/10th in the back of mine, and never had a problem.
Ben.
ive got prentire limslip 90.. not a tseries ae86 diff but still a clutch pack style diff.
i was lookin on the KAAZ site last night
they suggest (of course) KAAZ diff oil
but they give the specs as 80W90, GL5
so as long as you have the higher pressure rated GL5, perhaps it is ok?
as for a 140? it7s thicker.. but better? no idea..

Sorry to bring this one up from the depths....
I am after some infor about LSD oils - I'm in the process of installing a T-series LSD with a TRD 2way diff installed. during shipment they must have upended the diff as it leaked heaps of oil out the breather.
What is the general concensus on LSD oils? Mineral or Synthetic?
I'm probably going to go with either
Castrol SAF-XA (SAE 75W140)
or
Penrite 10 Tenths Comp Diff Oil (SAE 140)
Any comments? Recommendations? It's for a track car so I don't mind spending some $$$ on the oil.
