Default ID plates and what they say.

    Hi
I have about 7 or 8 Coronas to check, what does the firewall plate tell me about drive trains?

What is the coding and how do you decode it?

What diffs and gearboxes were fitted to XT130 RT130's Avantes and the like Coronas?

Are any of the commercial gearboxes like the W52 worth considering for conversion.

    All explained here.

Also beware that these codes will not necessarily apply to Aussie Coronas - they run Borg Warner boxes and diffs.
