He really just wanted to write "Z418" but he couldn't because of the character limit. I think he's just asking for the thread size guys, not the oil filter. Perhaps for a oil cooler?

i think it's 3/4 UNF, look up the filter they just said.

my 1UZ is 3/4 UNF, it's got a male/male fitting in the alloy piece, yours might be the same.

firstly why would u want to cool the oil on a lightly modded 1g-gte unless ur running really thin oil
secondly cooling the oil too much is not a good idea too u might need a thermostat on the oil cooler line

dont know how true this is or not but someone here told me that the
oil going to the 1g-gte engine oil filter was cooled by the engine coolant

now obviously the engine oil and the various parts related is cooled via the engine coolant but the cooling of oil filter i have no idea

also another elcheapo way to cool the oil is to put metal piece the size of the oil cooler around the oil cooler with some cooling fins on it , helps a lil bit i seen one on ebay ages ago u could prob make ur own

Oil only works within its viscosity, it'd be quite possible for a hard driven car on a warm day to put it outside that range. Toyota even agreed and put oil coolers on a few cars of the era from factory.

yeah, mk2's came with little front-mounted engine oil coolers standard. they're not very big, about 200x75x15mm roughly.

automatic oil is generally flowed through a cavity in the lower tank of the radiator for cooling. you could run the engine oild through this if it has one in the radiator.

Purple Five, firstly, who said it is that lightely tuned?, if a 200bhp n/a 7M-GTE has one from the factory, I personally think a 210 bhp 1G-GTE should have, - especially with the extra heat gererated by two turbos, and the higher rev limit!! - especially again as these things are prone to spinning big end bearings too... I have not heard about the oil being water cooled? I have not actually seen the block for about a year (talk about slow engineers!) but taht could esplain some of the pipes arounf teh oil filter housing..

The other point being the main reason I want this kit is becaue of the oil filter relocation. If I run an oil cooler (the relacation kit will give me the option to do this easily once the engine is in) I will use an oil stat with it, Helping forther keep the oil at the correct temp/viscosity.

Thanks Joe, but the thread on the 1UZ is different (according to my sources lol) using teh auto cooler might be an option, as I need to buya new rad anyway, and my car is a manual!!
    Apparently these are the engines that share the following thread size! 1G-EU, 1G-FE, 1G-GE, 1G-GZE, 1G-GTE (U), 5M-GEU, 6M-GEU, 7M-GE, 7M-GTEU, 1JZ-GE, 1JZ-GTE, 1JZ-FSE, 2JZ-GE, 2JZ-GTE, 2JZ-FSE, 1VZ-FE, 3VZ-FE, 4VZ-FE, 1MZ-FE, 2MZ-FE, 1RZ-E, 2RZ-E, 3RZ-E, 3RZ-FE, 5VZ-FE, 2TZ-FE, 2TZ-FZE

Unfortunately it doesn't tell me what that thread size is......

They're not prone to spinning big end bearings, they're just getting old and the virtues of poor servicing in Japan are taking their toll.

I dunno exactly about the oil being water cooled, but if you look at the oil filter, you'll see where it bolts to is a little jacket around the fitting which has coolant hoses going into/out of it.
