    Default Cds Fan?????

Anyone know what a CDS fan is as a mate of mine (who does not have the internet therefore im posting on his behalf) his 1jz cressida starts running like shit at high rpm like its missfiring. He's tryed heaps of stuff with no success, but while using my internet he came across somthing about a CDS fan that can potentially cause the vehicle to do what its doing.

For those that will ask, it's an auto 1jz running standard boost with a cooler, fuel pump, fuel reg and a
    3" exhaust

so my mate and I want to know if what he found (CDS FAN) does exsist, as the internet is full of technical topics that sometimes tend to contain bullshit
if this thing does exsist what is it, what does it do and why whould it casue a motor to start shitting itself at high RPM.

    Any FACTS would be great
    Cheers,
    Ivan.

Never heard of a CDS fan but others may have.

First thought is with the mods it could be hitting the fuel cut due to over boosting or something at revs.
My sig has been pruned as it was over 5 lines long.

CDS would make me think condensor, air con fan.. but that wouldn't have an impact on high revs.

CDS [Fan] in toyota terminology means Condensor [Fan]. It's usually used to differentiate between fans - ie RAD and CDS fuses, relays, fans - but generally has no reflection on action - both fans cool both the radiator and condensor.

In the MX83 the two factory electric fans (10" or so at the front and the 6" or so at the rear) are condensor fans in terms of only turning on when the pressure in the A/C lines rises over a certain value. If you don't have A/C, these fans will never turn on if wired up as per factory.

As stated by Dale, these fans have no effect on high rpm running.

You also said it has a fuel reg, which suggests it's not standard, so there seems to be much opportunity for the engine-type things to screw things up. Has he done a dyno run and confirmed AFR at high rpm?
