    Default RA28 window slides

Well I have searched the forums and no luck.
I have several RA28 doors and none of them have felt runners in the tracks that the window slides up and down in. My Datto ute has a felt/rubber U shaped thingy, yes thingy, that stops the window rattling when you slam the door.
Do the RA28's have a guide slide or what??

The RA28/23/TA22/23's all have round rubber rollers that guide the windows up. They also have rubber "H" shaped thingys that hold the glass. Is this what you mean? Theres nothing felt in there, just grease.

Is the fact that they windows are frameless causing the rattle you are worried about?

Datto would have a frame all the way around that stops the window rattling wouldn't they?

My "old" 2001 Subaru with frameless windows would rattle just as bad as the Celica when you closed the door.

    Hi

if you pull out the window there are two petal pieces at opposit ends of the glass held on by 3 bolts.

on the outermost edge of these there are 2 small rectangles on each side insie these slits some small bits of plastic sat inside that allowed the window to sit in the bailey channel without side to side movement.

as far as obtaining these parts you might have some trouble.

what i did with my celica is i made a copy of the existing ones out of plastic bread board it took a while but they work well.

otherwise you could buy them from toyota still at some huge price

    hope this helps

    Daniel.

Normo, there is definately no felt in the RA28 runners. The glass has those plastic/nylon bits as in the ebay picture, Thes are the the things that allows your window to slide up and down in the channels. If you remove the door trim, you will also find (hopefully) a 25mm diameter nylon wheel on the rear plate on the glass. If the wheel is missing, your window will not sit correctly when fully wound up, as the wheel does the final positioning.

Clean your nylon blocks, and channels, then lubricate with some Lanolin, Vaseline, or white lithuim grease. Smoooooooth !!!!!

    cheers Chuck.

yeah - i forgot about nathan's "roller guide".... it worked really well on his '22s rear windows.

When he does his fronts i'll probably do mine at the same time.
