    Rofl Dave, nice answer

OK, if you're talking about swapping those brakes onto another corona of almost the same year, swap the diff straight over, connect the brakes, bleed em, do a burnout, sweet

If you're talking about actually pulling the drum brakes off, say a S series diff on a sprinter, unless you have a MIG welder and some good skills with a MIG welder, forget it...

i would of thought the CSX would have the disc brakes being the upper model. Otherwise i know the advanti had the disc brakes cos i had one of those before.

The Avanti has IRS disc rear end, these will not fit the live axle. The CSX is the only ST-141 that had live axle disc brake rear end.

there are 2 live axle corona models that came equipped with rear disc brakes. they are the st141 avante and the early rt142 avante's.

both are the same unit. the RT142 IRS rear disks are a different kettle of fish altogether

    SUSS_SIDE:

find out the chassis codes of the cars and whether they are IRS or live axle....then we may be able to help more.

you are most likely going to want the larger brake master cylinder (which should be on the doner car) to go with the rear disc conversion also, and possibly a different handbrake cable. I am not totally sure with coronas but this is the general rule of thumb for this type of conversion.

    Hope this helps, Jack.

Is this the Avanti with the discs and live axle??

How does one fit a live axle with coils to a leaf spring RT104?

Above are the RT104 TOP and the 104GT LOWER arrangements.
1968 RT40S Corona 1600S series II (restore in progress)
    1973 RT104-MQFG 012604 Corona GT JDM (Owned since 1976 242000 km)
    1989 ST185-BLMVZ-0007199 Celica GT4 JDM (unmolested classic 95000 km)
    2012 ZN-6 86GT (shed find 5000 km in 6 years)

thats the right model in the pic.

no need to change the whole diff, just the brakes and axle retainer plate.

not all F series share the same bolt pattern on the end of the diff tube though.

MX13 and all T series that i have seen have the same 4 bolt pattern on the end flange of the diff tube....meaning you can bolt the corona disks onto them.
