Default Boost controller on 1G twin turbo

Hey guys, just got a GFB Atomic boost controller for my car, and am having trouble hooking it up. how i was told to run the hoses, makes no difference to the boost after adjusting the controller. i was told to run a hose from both turbos, put in a T piece, go to controller, then T piece with hose going to both waste gates (sorry guys hard to explain)
    something like this
    TURBO------T PIECE------TURBO

    | H
    | O
    | S
    | E

    BOOST CONTROLLER

    | H
    | O
    | S
    | E

    W/ GATE---T PIECE---W/ GATE

any help would be greatly appreciated, as i dont know if i have been given bad information?
    thanks
    josh

some if not all of the toyota engines have valves for the ecu to know when to perform boost cut, meaning 2 hoses coming off both gates, the one going to the valve needs to be blocked for the controller to work (this may not be the case with the 1g).

does the 1g run parralell or sequential? if sequential you may have connected it to the "prespool actuator"

i'm pretty sure the 1g has no such boost cut in the ecu, only a maximum amount the afm can read.

what you have done sounds right. have you adjusted it correctly? maybe you hooked the valve up backwards?

i put the controller in for the flow to go from turbo to waste gate as per the instructions. after turning about 16 turns out and no change, i tried hooking the controller up for the flow to run the opposite way, but still no change? maybe i hooked the hoses up wrong?

When iI set mine up I put a T peice on each turbo between w/gate and turbo and ran a hose of each to another T peice to the boost controller.
For you boost controller to work it must vent into the air
I would draw a diagram but my pen didnt work on the computer screen

I am not familiar with the actual boost controller but if your boost controller has a pressure in and a pressure out, then the normal set up is to just remove the hose from each turbo to it's actuator. Bung up the hole on the turbos (I use a bit of tube with a bolt stuck in it). Put a T piece between the two wastgates and hook this to your controller. The pressure feed for the controller (the other line) is better if it comes from your inlet manifold and there is plenty of nipples there to choose from.

If it only has a pressure in and no pressure out then setup as Ben (Siktoy) suggested.

if it comes from the inlet manifold the reading isnt as accurate though.

What you have is the correct setup.

Try, just for fun, remove the boost controller from your setup, and just block off (bolt or something, the two open ends your left with.

What that will do is allow you to run unlimited boost.. Try running the car like that, (be VERY VERY gentle, because you'll get silly boost real quick!) and see if you hit some sort of boost cut. If you don't, and you get silly boost, then you must have a dodgy boost controller.

just a note on what strad said, if you have a stock engine / ecu / afm it should cut out around 15-17psi.

1G boost cut i dont think exists , as i got to ~18PSI accidently once,
Around that point the car went mental , because i think ECU fuel cut is at ~16psi

That seems dependent on the ECU, my car would do it at 14.5psi with the Gen2 ECU and around 15.5psi on the Gen3.
