Well i don't know how and where you guys drive but i know quite a few people that would very rarely see 450km from a tank in their Cressidas. I think it must be different driving styles because come to think of it now that i've got a full time job (tottering to and from work each day is all i do) instead of hooning around all the time i'm seeing more like 400km to a tank (city driving). On the highway i would imagine i'd make about 500km but that's just an assumption.

City driving to and form work, stop start i get 400+ I will get over 450 this tank cause i drove to Sydney on Boxing day, but the rest was normal driving. I had a little bit of a fang Tuesday. I recently adjusted my timing, then pulled the ECU fuse for a few mins and jumped on the freeway and drove for about an hour on the freeway with the air con on on boxing day. I think this may have contributed, because even my city driving it seems a little more responsive and fuel efficient.

That is interesting because my old 1g-gte z20 soarer which would weigh pretty much the same as an mx83 got 500kms to a tank easy. Got 600kms once. This is a 60L tank also.

I know 2L vs 3L but twin turbo vs no turbo also.

just make sure a re-torque is the 1st thing on his list when he gets it. Our cressy grande was an ex company car with 200 something thousand kms on it. 1st thing we did was full service, seals belt and re-torque and it went to 360 odd thousand kms before it blew and thats only because we didnt re-torque every 50 - 100 thousand.

look after it and do it right and it will last. or just save some clams and put a 1J in

I am amazed by my fuel economy. it gives me 500Km in city and 600+ on the highway. Though it is a low Km motor from japan.
