Have a look at putting a RA40 tacho bit into the dash...
I know some poeple have replaced RA40 tacho bits with MX62 cressida when doing 1G conversions...
Cheers

Finished puitting my second 1UZ into my MS123 crown.
it originally had a 5M in it.
Tacho is out (obviously going from a six to an eight)
I've been told the 1UZ runs the same as a four cylinder, not going to go into detail, but basically i need to turn a 4 pulse signal into a six pulse so my tacho reads correctly.
Any easy way of doing this without spending too much $$$
Before any1 suggests the trimpot on the gauge, there isnt one, unlike many other toyota tacho's this one does not have one.

take it to an instrument repairer, he will be able to calibrate it to suit. And yes you will require it to operate as a 4 cyl tacho on a 1uz
u can take it to guy in marayong and he will calibrate it for 150 to 200 bucks
or i can sell u a digital adjuster box all set up for 1uz 4cly to 6cly for 220 this is gst inclusive
Random that it doesn't have a trimpot, my MX73 is the same age and it has one.
Any 'instrument' place will be able to mod and test it for you.
Shouldn't cost too much.
I know of a place in Balcatta that does it, but thats probably too far for you.

cheers guys, sideshow, yeah i dont think i'l take it there, bit far for me to drive
Its gotta be simple as, cant take much to turn a 4 pulse signal into a 6 pulse. Peewee can you tell me exactly which wire the trimpot intercepts? i could possible add my own?? although maybe not cos i need toboost the signal pulse not slow it.
Hmmm
gotta be a cheap easy way without pulling my dash out again.

you might need to boost the signal too cause i had to in my hilux tacho
then adjust the signal
If you combine the spark pulses from both coil together will give an 8 cylinder output and then add trimpot to tacho to adjust down to give correct reading on a 6 cylnder tacho would work.
Both covered in Hens thread here.
