Default RA28 LT to GT replica - what do I need?

Let's say I want to make a stock standard RA28 LT as close as possible to a JDM GT. What parts would I need to source? I've done some research and have gathered what I've found so far (these came from TheToyman75's historic ride thread as I couldn't find any other GT replica threads with such good info):

    GT Dash and Gauges
    GT Rear Badge
    GT Grill
    GT Rear Console
    GT Door Trims
    GT Blue Glass
    GT Spec retrimmed Seats
    GT Front indicators

    Then

    GT factory wheels
    GT rear view hood mirrors
    GT vented bonnet
    Power windows
    Air conditioning
    18R-G (Or GEU?)

Are those items correct? Can anyone else add to this? My goal would be to eventually do just this conversion.

    Hi,

    GT vented bonnet???????

    - GT interior mirror
    - GT steering wheel
    - GT suspension
    - GT engine (18R-GU)
    - GT Gearbox (P51)
    - GT diff (F-series 3.909, 2-pinion)
    - GT rear brake light cluster (think the GT ran twin brake lights??????)
    - GT "OK" Computer
    - GT power windows, unless you are going for the non-power window de-option
    - GT Pinstriping
    - GT front grille emblem

Lambolica (on these forums) may also provide information, as he has a genuine RA28GT that he is in the process of restoring.

Basically, what you need is a lot of money and infinite patience.

    Hi,

Assuming someone actually lists a P51 for sale, I'd reckon it'd be $600 upwards. I have only seen one or two for sale in 20 odd years.

    They're like long-nose 22 bonnets... uber rare.

My greasy little hands might just have one in a week or two. All be it with an ugly rover bellhousing on it. LOL Yes its currently behind a rover V8 in of all things a P76... Also does a W50 18RG bellhousing fit and are they the same item as the bellhousing on a P51?
    Cheers, Alex

    Hi,

Yes. The W50 and P51 are the same externally and so are the attachment points.

All depends how far you want to go mate, its a pretty strong addiction not unlike heroin, once you start your hooked! You will start sourcing parts but then uber rare NOS parts will come up so you will have to buy them too, soon you will have a whole heap of parts and doubles but the car still wont be running :0

Well thats what happened to me anyways!

All that aside its a heap of fun!

All the best with the build

don't the GT's have a solid roof lining with a roof console as well??? i'm sure i noticed that in Tarry's GT back in the day. although my RA28 was so hacked that the roof lining might have been throw in there at some point too.

and his GT had 3 bar lights, although its possible these were changed at some point.

    cheers
